Customer in the spotlight! Petra van Esch has been a well-known face in the dressage ring for years and her daughters are now also active in equestrian sports. She has lost count, but she thinks that Bart has been taking care of her saddles for about 15-20 years, and after all these years still to full satisfaction.
“What I really like is that Bart travels all over the world and that he really doesn't care whether he measures a saddle for a top jumping rider or for a pension customer of mine with, for example, a Haflinger. He would like to let everyone enjoy riding by contributing to a well-fitting saddle.”
When asked how Petra ended up with Bart years ago, she cannot answer the exact answer. “I was already a customer when the store was still in the old building, next to Sandy's parental home. There was such a stove in the middle, I remember that. Even then I was a Passier fan and someone pointed me to Bart. He was well acquainted with the brand and is still a supplier of it.” What Petra likes about Passier? “The quality of the leather and the fact that I don't want to be locked in my saddle. Passier used to be a flat saddle and has few twists, so I'm not pushed into a certain position. That is what I love about Passier.”
But it is not just the preference for one particular brand that has kept Bart visiting Petra for so long. “Bart really has a lot of knowledge and he keeps his promises". That's always nice. In addition, the line is short, if my pension clients or lesson clients need a new saddle, it will be on the doorstep within a few days. And it's not because he's not busy. But because the contact is mutual. I try to forward my customers, and Bart then tries to come quickly.”
“Bart also always thinks along with us. When he comes across a certain saddle on the way, for example for my daughters, he calls and says: 'I was thinking of you, this saddle is only a few months old'. Without me specifically asking for this. That pro activity is super nice. And in addition, he also takes into account the wallet. He advises, for example, with a young horse, which is still growing a lot, to temporarily put something between the saddle. ‘Then we will look again in two months’, says Bart.”
