The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production in a natural way. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-grey. This is a desired effect of the Sweet Iron bits. When a Sweet Iron bit is not used temporarily, an orange-brown layer of rust can form on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
Sweet Iron bits are suitable for all horses. Sweet Iron helps to create more foam and better grip on the bit. In addition, the Sweet Iron bit has the most variations in mouthpieces, each with its own specific effect.
