This time we paid a working visit to the factory in Valdagno where the production of the Amerigo saddles takes place.
This area is the heart of the Italian saddlery industry. Saddles from many major brands such as Erreplus, Prestige, Equipe and therefore also Amerigo are produced in this area.
On Monday evening we left for Brussels because we already had a very early flight to Triviso and otherwise it would be impossible to get to the airport on time with the early morning traffic. After arriving in Triviso we immediately traveled to the town of Valdagno where the factory is located where both Equipe and Amerigo saddles are produced. There we spent the entire afternoon discussing all the new developments going on at Amerigo and previewing new products for the next year.
This long day naturally makes you hungry and what better place to enjoy a delicious Italian dinner than Italy itself! All this organized by Amerigo for all present dealers and saddle fitters from the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Finland.
After a good night's sleep, the next day we had an extensive tour of the factory and were informed about all the different production processes. For example, Amerigo is unique in that all seats and curds are made in-house and we have been able to carefully study the special techniques they use for this.
We could use the afternoon for a short visit to the city of Treviso, after which we had the return flight in the evening. This was once again an extremely educational visit and good to see where and how the production of this beautiful saddle brand takes place.
