This time we want to tell you a little more about the saddle brand Amerigo in our blog. We work very closely with this brand, because the brand is an important pillar in our collection. Amerigo makes saddles for dressage, jumping and eventing as well as all associated accessories.
Origin Amerigo
The "nerve center" of the Amerigo brand is located in Herisau, Switzerland. This is the home of the Menetsattel company, founded by Lisa and Peter Menet. They are responsible for the Amerigo brand worldwide. Peter has been a passionate rider and breeder of sport horses all his life and he shares his knowledge of how the influence of saddles can affect the performance of horses in seminars with many veterinarians, physiotherapists and osteopaths all over the world. Production takes place in Valdagno, Italy. Here Menetsattel and Selleria Equipe work together on the development of saddle models for all different types of horses and the highly technical accessories that meet the demand for equestrian sports today.

Specially tailored
Amerigo carries two different trees. The Masterclass is a wooden tree and the Vega is a synthetic tree. Each saddle model is designed for a specific type of horse. Once the saddle tree choice has been determined, the next important choice is the type of cushion that will be used. Next, the size of the saddle tree and the blades and the twists will have to be determined. There are many options available on each model, so that an individually adapted saddle is possible for every rider and horse.
Composition of an Amerigo saddle
All Amerigo saddles are made from Italian and French top quality hides which are processed on a natural basis and selected manually. 3 different types of leather are used and you can choose from 4 different colors.
The Grip leather is specially developed durable calf leather.
Pinerolo is a super soft calf leather top layer and then the Traditional cow leather is used in a smooth or printed version.
The Amerigo MPS system is used for the filling of the cushions. This is a unique mix of synthetic fibers that can be used in different volumes for a correct fit for every horse.
Then at Amerigo you also have the choice to personalize your saddle by means of color accents of the trim between the seat and the cushions, the stirrup strap holder and the stitching.
